Set on a beautiful, 2-acre campus on Cape Cod, MA, Sandwich Montessori School merges traditional Montessori with nature-based education. Children and staff spend ample time outdoors, in all weather, and use nature as a means to enhance the learning experience for children. Our educators share a common goal to guide children in way that fosters independence and develops smarter, kinder, braver future leaders.

 

Founded in 1998 and family owned, Sandwich Montessori School serves learners 15months – 12years, with a growth plan to serve community needs for children birth – 18years. Our ideal families are looking for a premier educational experience with highly trained and professional staff members, and are committed to being an integral part of their child’s learning.

Your Role


We are looking for a passionate leader who shares our dedication to both the Montessori method and connecting children to nature. Our ideal candidate has the experience and drive needed to grow enrollment, build and retain an amazing team, create a strong parent community, and ensure the educational experience for each child in every classroom is of the highest standard. As the Head of School, you'll be responsible for providing servant leadership and nurturing loyalty in the campus-wide team.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  •  Working with the CEO to develop and lead a strategic plan to meets the school’s vision
  • Managing all day-to-day operations of the school
  • Building a strong community of staff, parents, and children as a servant leader
  • Ensuring delivery of an exceptional educational experience for all students
  • With the assistance of the Education Director, ensures program quality is maintained and classrooms have appropriate materials.
  • Ensuring a financially healthy school (including managing campus budget)
  • Building relationships with prospective and current parents supporting a culture of trust and open communication, with a high retention rate
  • Hiring, supporting, developing, and managing teaching staff

We'd love to talk with you if you possess:


  • 2+ years of experience as a school administrator, such as a preschool director, school director, program director, principal, or vice principal
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • An aptitude for creating a warm and benevolent team culture
  • Strong leadership and the ability to make tough decisions
  • A passion for getting education right through the Montessori pedagogy

We will prefer you over other candidates if you have:


  • 3+ years experience in a school leadership position
  • Montessori certification
  • A track record in programmatic growth
